Competing for Gamefight Wakefield

At Gamefight Wakefield, we encourage our students to challenge themselves through competition. Competing is a fantastic way to test your skills, build confidence, and experience the thrill of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling tournaments.
Our Favorite Local Tournaments
We regularly participate in a variety of events throughout the year, but two of our favorite competitions are:
- All Stars BJJ – A well-organized and competitive event. Check out upcoming events at All Stars BJJ.
- Empire Grappling – A popular UK-based tournament with a strong reputation. Registration is available via Smoothcomp.
What is Smoothcomp?
Smoothcomp is the leading tournament registration and management platform for BJJ and grappling events. Parents will need to create an account and set up a profile for their child, ensuring all details such as age, weight, and rank are accurately entered to place them in the correct division.
Attending Competitions
- Parents can take their children to competitions independently, but please be aware that if it’s not an event we are attending as a club, there may not be a Gamefight Wakefield coach available on the day.
- We recommend competing at events we agree to attend as a team, ensuring proper support and guidance from coaches and teammates.
- If you're unsure about which competitions the team is preparing for, speak with your coach to find out about upcoming team events.
Get Involved!
If your child is interested in competing, start by creating a Smoothcomp profile and checking out upcoming tournaments. Have questions? Ask your coach! We’re here to guide you through the process and support our students in their competition journey.
