London Fall International Open IBJJF

13th October 2024

We are incredibly proud of GameFIght Wakefield Student Ren's remarkable performance at the London Fall International Open 2024! As one of our youngest students, Ren's dedication, discipline, and passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu continue to inspire everyone at the academy. Winning all his matches by submission, including a kimura in the semi-finals and a triangle-to-armbar transition in the finals, he secured his 16th consecutive gold medal in a combined match time of under 90 seconds—a streak that began in January!

What stands out most is Ren’s exceptional discipline, particularly at just seven years old. Managing his diet for weigh-ins and showing such maturity under pressure is no easy feat. His commitment paid off, coming in at 26.3kg and feeling strong throughout the day. Ren’s current streak stands at 27 straight wins in his division, with an impressive 28 submissions out of 34 victories!

We also want to acknowledge Ren’s respect for his opponents, showing the values of humility and sportsmanship that are core to martial arts. His hard work and attention to detail, especially with the kimura we’ve been drilling in class, truly shone through.

Next up, Ren is tackling the European Championships, where he's moving up to the 30kg division—no doubt ready to conquer new challenges! We’re so excited to see him continue his journey. Keep up the fantastic work, Ren! Your dedication and love for the sport are a true inspiration.
